Walk On! There’s Still Time to Reach Your Fundraising Goal

San Francisco Walk

You’ve made a difference!

Thank you for helping to make the 2014 JDRF Walks around the Bay Area a big success! Every day, researchers are working hard to create a world without T1D. Because of you, our walkers and donors, we’re making huge strides!

But the fight continues and we need to reach our fundraising goal of $1.3 million before the end of the year. Funds have already been promised to allow important research to continue and improve the lives of millions of people living with T1D.You can help fast-track the most promising research, such as the recent exciting milestone in Encapsulation.

Did you know that you can continue to fundraise even after you walk? Now is a great time to check in with your friends and colleagues to let them know about the day, thank them for their contributions and remind those who would still like to contribute that there is STILL TIME. Here are some tips:

1.      Send out a Thank You email. Your friends and colleagues want to know that they have helped your cause. And, you can give a gentle reminder for people who still want to contribute. Remember, November is National Diabetes Awareness Month, so you can tie that into your messages.

2.      If you haven’t already, make a self-donation. Leading by example will encourage your friends and colleagues to join in.

3.      Ask for matching gifts. Many companies will match charitable donations.

4.      Continue to update your social media with your fundraising page and thank all who have contributed.

5.     Share these videos and these photos in your Thank You emails and social media. They are truly inspiring and let people know just where those fundraising dollars are being used.

Thank you again for participating in the 2014 JDRF Walk. Together we will turn Type One into Type None!
