Spring Fling

To those who joined us in Half Moon Bay and to those who joined us virtually:  Thank you for making Spring Fling 14 such a tremendous success!

teamFrom the Thursday night Skipper’s Welcome-that turned into a full blown dance party-to the marathon day on Friday-Golf, Lunch and the Bash-it was more fun than we could have imagined fundraising could be!  Over $770,000 was raised-bringing the 13 year total for Spring Fling to over $7.5 million.  These powerful research dollars for JDRF are thanks to you-our friends, family and community who together have done astonishing things!  Visit our Flickr Page to view, download and share photos by Bellalu Photography.

A special note of thanks to Fund A Cure speaker, MikeCaptain Mike Gordon.  Mike spoke with such elegance and heart about his life with T1D, his life now and all the benefits he has received from JDRF’s efforts.  His story was a powerful call to action-to continue moving JDRF forward-so that all those we love can be cured and this disease stopped.

To our Captains, Crew, Ambassadors, our sponsors, community partners, volunteers and donors-your efforts made this the most successful Spring Fling in history. To Raj Mathai, our nine time emcee and our special guest Chef Sam Talbot, you blew us out of the water with your passion and commitment to a cure.

Finally, to those who joined the Crowdtilt campaign-you were part of a $25,000 gift to JDRF, directly to research.  Wow!  The power of the network was present in the room-we felt each and every contribution from those who care around the world.  The campaign will remain open until May 15th-so if you still want to join us, don’t miss the boat!

It has been our extraordinary privilege to bring you Spring Fling for the past 13 years and your support and the glorious Michael Osborne tribute sculpture we received, will remind us of all that has transpired and all that is to come thanks to JDRF!
